Field of Dreams

So one of my

a b s o l u t e  f a v o r i t e

parts of the C3 Internship is that we, individually, get the opportunity to give a 5 minute message to our intern class!

I am up this week and I have been praying that God would put something on my heart & I am so excited to fully develop this message.

I have been doing a Ruth devotional and one verse/idea in the devo stuck out and I felt that it is a major word-in-season for the intern class!

Here it goes:

We all have been assigned a field.
Our  w o r k p l a c e
Our  s c h o o l
Our  c h u r c h

We all go through different seasons in that field.

“Boaz went over and said to Ruth, “Listen, my daughter. Stay right here with us when you gather grain; don’t go to any other fields. Stay right behind the young women working in my field. See which part of the field they are harvesting, and then follow them. I have warned the young men not to treat you roughly. And when you are thirsty, help yourself to the water they have drawn from the well.” Ruth 2:8-9 NLT

God has placed us in our own fields.
Some different from the next- connect, youth, financial, creative, kidz, missions, etc. and they all yield different crops.
God placed us in these fields next to specific leaders, to observe which part of the field they are harvesting, follow them & be trained up.
It is not the easiest job at times because it may not be the ‘part of the church body’ we would have chosen or the task we would have asked for but there is a reason God placed us here.
Like in the verse, Boaz told Ruth that if she stayed only in his field, she would have protection and provision- this is the same with God. If we are faithful to the field He has called us to, there is abundant protection and provision for us!!

“Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it.”
2 Corinthians 13:5-7 MSG

There are/will be times when it seems like it would be super easy to sit back and enjoy the ride, but we need to allow ourselves regular checkups.
There is a time for rest but we can't get carried away instead of doing all task with excellence and to the best of our ability.
Our hard work not only benefits our process but also the size and quality of the harvest for the entire team and church body!
As interns there will be times we want to straight up throw the towel in or times we have been working so hard we think we might DIE {haha} but this is only increasing our abilities and our capacity for future workloads!
We are sowing into our future whether it be in ministry, business, family, relationships, etc.

“All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.”
Romans 8:22-25 MSG

We all have dreams and desires waiting to be birthed. Some in the beginning stages of development, others full-term. Some of us have huge dreams/destiny/vision that we haven't even seen yet.
God desires us to have dreams and vision and desires in our life. Something to work towards!
When we have a destination, that means there is a journey TO that destination that needs to take place. It tends to be easy to get caught up in the "birthing" of that dream or vision instead of taking one day at a time and appreciating the journey and self-development for how it is changing us & molding us.
We need the journey. Without the journey, without the development, we aren't the person God wants to grow us into to be able to handle stepping into the actual dream/vision.
We are called to be faithful to the field we were chosen to tend to. Through trial, perseverance, breakthrough & times of rejoicing, we are being molded into the person who will be capable of handling our dreams and desires in its fullness.
Even though we may not realize it, we ARE being refined & sculpted in the inner most parts of our being.
We just need to stay faithful and expectant in our field that will harvest dreams.
